Special Issue on Fixed Point Theory-AJM
Special Issue on
Fixed Point Theory and Its Applications
To be Published by: The Arabian Journal of Mathematics (Springer Journal)
Aims and Scope: Fixed point theorems give the conditions under which maps
(single or multivalued) have solutions. The theory itself is a beautiful mixture
of analysis, topology, and geometry. Over the last 50 years or so the theory of
fixed points has been revealed as a very powerful and important tool in the study
of nonlinear phenomena. In particular fixed point techniques have been applied in
such diverse fields as biology, chemistry, economics, engineering, game theory, and physics.
The aim of this special issue is to report new fixed point theorems and their applications
where the essentiality of the fixed point theorems is highlighted. This special issue will
accept good quality papers containing original research results and survey articles of
exceptional merit.
Topics: The research topics include but are not limited to:
- 1. Degree and fixed point index for various types of maps
- 2. Lefschetz and Nielsen theories
- 3. Algebraic topology methods in the context of the Leray-Schauder theory
- 4. KKM-maps, theory of games and economics
- 5. Fixed point algorithms for computing fixed points
- 6. Fixed points for set-valued maps
- 7. Nonexpansive mappings in Banach and metric spaces
- 8. Multivalued Mappings in Banach and metric spaces
- 9. Monotone mappings in ordered sets
- 10. Multivalued mappings in ordered sets
- 11. Applications to non-metric spaces like modular function spaces
- 12. Applications to Logic Programming and Directed Graphs.
A limited number of expository and survey articles will also be published.
