More Than One Minus Sign in Simple Fractions: Problem 2
- Rule 4:
- If
there is an even number of minus signs in a fraction, the value of the
fraction is positive.
- If there is an odd number of minus signs in a simple fraction, the value of the fraction is negative.
- Problem 2:
- Find the value of (-8)(-7).
- Answer:
- There is an even number of minus signs, so the answer is positive. The product of 8 and 7 is 56. The answer is 56.
