EXPONENTIAL RULES

Rule 3:
When there are two or more exponents to the same base, multiply them.


Example 9:
Simplify the following expression. tex2html_wrap_inline35 .
Solution:

Simplify the numerator to tex2html_wrap_inline37. Simplify the denominator to tex2html_wrap_inline39.
Now rewrite the original fraction as tex2html_wrap_inline41 which in turn can be written as tex2html_wrap_inline43
