Units of Conversion: Cubic (Volume) Measure - Problem 2

Problem 2: Convert 10 cubic decimeters to cubic yards.

Solution:

From the above table, you can see that there is a link between cubic decimeters and cubic feet.
Since 1,000 cubic decimeters is equivalent to 35.314 cubic feet, the fraction

is equivalent to 1.
Write 10 cubic decimeters as
Multiply:
Cancel the cubic decimeters.
From the above table, you can see that there is a link between cubic feet and cubic yards.
Since 27 cubic feet is equivalent to 1 cubic yard, the fraction

is equivalent to 1.
Multiply

by 1 in the form

to obtain
Cancel the cubic feet...
Simplify: The answer is 0.013079 cubic yard.
