Exercise 3.

Find the solutions of the inequality

x3+x2-6x>0.

Answer.

The equation x3+x2-6x=0 has the roots x=-3, x=0 and x=2.

Consequently, the set of solutions of the inequality is the union of the interval (-3,0) and the interval $(2,\infty)$.
